Case Study

A Periscope client (who is prepared to validate this case study) wanted an incident management system.

Key stakeholders were invited to a meeting – their expectation was that the scope of the system would be the workshop outcome;

  1. In the morning a stakeholder analysis was undertaken to determine
    1. Key stakeholders
    2. Their needs and concerns
    3. Expected outcomes
  2. Data requirements documented on a whiteboard included:
    1. Required fields
    2. Data relationships and workflows
    3. Security access to fields
  3. Lunch Break
    1. Stakeholders broke for lunch and were asked to return in 2 hours.
    2. Using Rapid Application Technique – Periscope created the form
  4. Users reconvened to:
    1. Review the workflow as displayed in the software – changes were made because:
    2. Stakeholders could “see” the impacts of workflow decisions
    3. Gaps and inconsistent workflows became obvious
  5. All Stakeholders signed off on the Form at the end of the meeting
  6. Two weeks later – the executive signed off and the Incident reporting system went live.
